The Free Funeral Services Society - F.F.S.S - (Yangon) is composed of the following board
of committees.
(1) Board of Awadasariya (Board of Counseling)
(2) Board of Patrons
(3) Executive Committee
(4) Legal Advisory Committee
The executive committee was first formed in September 2003 with 28 executive members. At present,
the new executive committee was re-elected in
December 2007 and duties were assigned to 21members,with
U Kyaw Thu as Chairman, Daw Than Myint Aung as Secretary, Daw Myint Myint
Khin Pe (Shwe-Zee-Kwet) as
Treasurer. There are now more than 150 volunteers and nearly 50 employees engaged in doing the various
good deeds of
this welfare organization.
There are sub-committees to carry out the necessary functions in operating the free funeral service and
the medical aid procedures. Raising funds
for the Society to help meet the increasing costs in the funeral
service sector and medical aid sector is one of the important functions of the
committee.
The Society is also trying to raise funds for the construction of office building and necessary buildings
for medical aid at a plot of land donated
by the Government.

- Overseeing the daily operating functions of funeral services
- Management of motor drivers and their assistants occurred during the funeral processions and cremation
- Giving advise the funeral processions & cremation
- Support & assist the voluntary members in performing their various assigned tasks property

(5) Medical Aid & Health Care Sub-Committee
- Enlisting health care workers and nurses
- engaging voluntary doctors & specialist for treating patients at Thukha clinic
- managing medical expenses
- selecting of drugs and medicines for prescriptions.
(similar generic forms of medicines at reasonable prices are selected so that the same amount of donated cash can tread more patients.)

(6) Vehicle Serving & Maintenance Sub-Committee
- purchasing and acquiring of appropriate vehicles for funeral services (to be used as hearses)
- regular servicing and maintenance of the existing vehicles on schedule
- overseeing the various tasks of mechanics and drivers for proper functioning of the vehicles
- scheduling and distributions of tasks and fuel for the smooth running of the funeral services rendered

(7) News & Information Committee
- Proclamations & editing of news and information of F.F.S.S (yangon)
- Recording & approving new members and issuing of membership
- Preparing & recording of meeting minutes
- Arranging and distribution of pamphlets
- Collecting appropriate articles for flyers and books
- Creating web-site and feed back (follow up)

(8) Front Desk Operation Sub - Committee
- Scheduling and assigning of members on daily basis for receiving donors.

The executive members are assigned to these various sub-committees and are being assisted by more than one ordinary members according to their expertise.

(1) A member must be a strong and healthy person of over eighteen years of age, recommended by at least one of the established members of the society.
(2) Must be free from any political activities and monetary obligations.
(3) A national dress with a white-stiff-collared shirt and black longyi for male and a white upper jacket or blouse and black longyi for female with the emblem brooch of the society and identity card of each member is recommended as a uniform for members
volunteering for funeral services.
(4) volunteers must work for the funeral service or in
any task assigned at least once a week.
(5) Must be knowledgeable in etiquette and have pleasant behavior in dealing with people at funeral services and unruly manners
are prohibited.
(6) Must be thorough in procedures, explaining the necessary facts for the deceased’s family to decide on, checking and acquiring
essential papers needed to carry out the funeral service.
(7) Death registration slip must be checked and approved for authenticity.
(8) Members are not allowed to drive the hearses without permission and altering the prearranged routes of the funeral processions
by the accompanying members are not allowed.
(9) Volunteers and employees alike are prohibited to
accept or collect any kind of favors or payment from the others (outsiders).
(10) If volunteers rendering funeral services wet met with abnormal events, they are to report back by verbal or phone message
to the day-leaders at the office for approval.
(11) If any difficult or unusual occurrence during the funeral service need prompt decisions, it must be reported back to the head
or branch offices for the correct and felting results.
(12) Taking any kind of drugs or alcoholic beverages during the voluntary services are strictly prohibited.
(13) Unqualified using of emblem brooch of the F.F.S.S (Yangon) or identity cards are not allowed.
(14) A full membership card will be issued only after helping as a voluntary novice members and with the unanimous consent of
executive members.
(15) Must regularly attend the monthly meetings, discussing and sharing the
experience and problems met during the funeral routes.
(16) All members must wear designated
uniforms to all meetings and occasions for the F.F.S.S (Ygn).
(17) Any regulations and instructions
pertain to the welfare of the Society must be observed.
(18) Anyone not conforming to or breaking
the appropriate rules and instructions designated by the F.F.S.S (Ygn) ,with the decision of the executive committee shall be have
the membership according to his or her shortcomings or executed or duly punished.
